Puma IP stands for International Production. Under this brand, Puma has knives manufactured by international partners abroad.
The Puma GmbH IP Solingen is a German manufacturer of hunting, sports, and work knives based in Solingen.
Puma has been producing knives for various applications since the trademark was registered in the Solingen knife maker's roll in 1769.
Originally, the Puma factory in Solingen was a manufactory where hair scissors and razors were made; it was not until 1876 that pocket knives, stilettos, sabers, and stag knives were produced. Today, the company Puma relies on a combination of industrial manufacturing techniques using computer-controlled processing machines, as well as continuing the traditional methods of grinding and polishing by hand. Since 2003, Puma has had knives manufactured by international partners abroad under the brand Puma IP (International Production) and Puma Tec (since 2008). Since 2019, the product lines PUMA SGB and PUMA XP have also been offered. These were developed in collaboration with a partner company in the USA.
