A headlamp is part of the basic equipment for hunters, whether to find the hunting spot or for tracking. Compared to classic flashlights, headlamps have the advantage that the user's hands remain free.
Good headlamps feature multi-level white light settings as well as red and green light.
Wildlife is said to be less sensitive to red and green light than to bright white light. With green light, contrasts can be perceived more sharply by the human eye, while red light has the advantage of least affecting human night vision. However, colored light has no advantage over white light in the aftermath.
