The .50 AE (Action Express) caliber with metric dimensions of 12.7 x 36.6 is the most powerful cartridge for self-loading pistols on the market. The best-known weapon, which is supplied as standard in .50 AE, is the Desert Eagle.

The Desert Eagle fires standard 300 grain bullets, which have a muzzle energy of 400 m/s and an E0 of 1700 joules.
