For all shooters - whether hunting or sporting, the following applies: No shooting on the shooting range without supervision! But what does that mean? Supervision? Stand supervision? More precisely, it requires the "responsible supervisor at shooting ranges". For the sake of simplicity, this is called a stand supervisor. The requirements for the stand supervisor as well as the prerequisites for this are regulated by the Weapons Act in §27 as well as the General Weapons Ordinance in §§ 10, 11.
So what do I have to do now if I want to take over the stand supervision? The requirements are the same as those that you have to fulfill as a gun owner anyway:
- reliable
- knowledgeable
- personally suitable
- of age
The certificate is a bit deceptive, because the expert knowledge does not refer to that for sport shooters, but directly to the activity as a stand supervisor.
The owner of the house rights or, in the case of leased-in clubs, the responsible shooting master or board of directors decides on the reliability and personal suitability.
So how do I obtain the expertise I need as a stand supervisor? Not differently than with the weapon expert knowledge - by a course. Either with an association or quite uncomplicatedly, by a Online course.
In this course you will learn everything you need to know to be able to take on the role of a range officer. This is the most important task in shooting and is indispensable for the entire sport! Without
no shooting and without shooting no sport ... Each club is happy about committed
Shooters who want to take over the post. Because the most important task is nothing else than the constant supervision of shooting!
The range supervisor has to ensure that all those present do not cause any avoidable dangers by their behavior. How can they do this? Through attention and focus! For this reason, the stand supervisor is not allowed to take part in the shooting.
However, there is no rule without an exception: If he is alone at the shooting range, he is allowed to do so. Advantage is therefore: You are allowed to shoot alone as a stand supervisor!
In addition to the constant supervision of those present, it must also be checked whether the age limits are observed and all weapons comply with the stand permit.
