Description

This is a Shiloh Sharps Business rifle in caliber 45-70. The Business rifles were the lowest grade in the 1870's but were built to the same standards as all other Sharps. What made these cheaper for Sharps to produce was that these rifles had full round barrels that were known to be actually more accurate than the more expensive octagon barrels.

This rifle from Shiloh was built to a special order and features much better wood than usual, fire-blued screws with brass escrutcheons, and upgraded color-case hardening. The rifle was delivered with a rear buckhorn and Rocky Mountain blade front sights that are included with the sale. An MVA globe front sight with inserts has been installed along with an MVA mid-range venier rear with windage adjustment. An MVA "Montana Magnum" Hadley rear sight disc is included with 15 different aperatures. An MVA barrel mount spirit level has also been installed in the rear sight dovetail to assist in keeping the rifle properly oriented.

The cost to order a new rifle with these options is over $4,400 in the US. To get this then to Germany could easily add another 2,000 Euro for VAT, Zoll and shipping.

Unlike the 50's or other 45's used for buffalo, the 45-70 is the only original Buffalo cartridge you can buy loaded ammunition for in Germany and it shoots accurately with either black powder or Nitro. Don't miss your opportunity to own a Shiloh Sharps in a caliber that you can easily shoot.

Sale includes a new copy of Sharps Firearms Volume 3 Model 1874,1875 &1877 Target Rifles and Model Variations by Roy Marcot, Ron Paxton, and Edward W. Marron, Jr. The book contains much new information about the Business Rifle and alone costs more than 150 Euro.
