The Merkel K5 is a new break-action rifle from the traditional manufacturer - more streamlined, elegant, and even more beautiful than the previous models K3 and K4.
The Merkel K5 presents itself as a rifle primarily focused on high functionality, while simultaneously exuding graceful elegance. The latest development series of this rifle extends from the slightly curved buttstock over the slender forend to a 17 mm barrel, reminiscent of the movement of a big cat in a leap. State-of-the-art technology combines here with a fresh appearance: The tipping block has been designed to be extremely compact and locks with the typically robust steel-on-steel locking mechanism from Merkel. A combination of technical sophistication and a new, harmonious design of stock, mechanism, and barrel leads to optimized functionality. The result is a rifle that weighs only 2.3 kilograms and has remarkably compact dimensions.
The removable tipping block lock is the heart of the K5: It locks steel on steel, is extremely lightweight, short, and secure. The titanium-nitrided locking block is removable, making the weapon quickly and easily non-firing. The locking system with removable hunter tipping block lock features a separate manual safety.
The new manual safety operates completely silently and is even easier to use - almost no force is required from the finger anymore. The revised trigger system is length and side adjustable. With a trigger weight of only 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the Merkel K5 can be easily operated with any finger and hand shape.
Pistol grip, forend, and patent catch are elegantly finished with ebony. The buttstock of wood class 4 features removable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheek piece with double fold.
The barrels with a diameter of 17 mm are equipped with the universal sighting i-Sight system with covered M15x1 muzzle thread. With a single internal hex screw, the rear sight and front sight can be disassembled, and the front sight can also be repositioned - depending on whether shooting with a silencer, without sights, or with a muzzle brake is desired.
The sling swivels are equipped with the new Merkel Speedster system and are therefore also removable.
