Stalking marks are all the features that shot game leaves behind after being shot. They are examined if the game has not died at the point of impact. By evaluating the stalk marks, the shooter can conclude how and whether he has hit the piece of game. In addition, the stalking signs can be used to estimate how long the escape distance is.
The most important stalking signs include the drawing of the game in the shot, sweat (color and consistency), cut and tear hair, bone splinters, ground wounds, so-called intrusions, teeth, antler parts and game shreds. In addition, vocalizations of the game and the bullet impact, i.e. the sound of the bullet hitting the game body can provide information about the shot.
