In late summer, the harvest hunts mark the start of the hot hunting season for driven hunts. In September, they are directly followed by the driven hunts - therefore, August is the best time to upgrade, for example, with a driven hunt magazine with a higher cartridge capacity than is needed for sitting or stalking.
However, starting from 01.09, the new NWR II will come into effect, which will also limit magazine capacity in the future.
In the future, so-called Hi-Cap magazines (i.e., "High Capacity") will be prohibited, which are magazines with more than 20 rounds capacity for handguns and more than 10 rounds for long guns. Semi-automatics with fixed magazines that can hold more than ten cartridges will also be prohibited. However, repeaters with fixed magazines that can hold more than ten cartridges are not affected by the ban in its current framework.
For new purchases, this means: Do not buy magazines for long guns that can hold more than 10 rounds! Magazines that are already in one's possession must either be surrendered to the respective weapons authority or an application must be submitted to retain the magazine (Paragraph 58 with reference to § 40, Weapons Act)
