In the airsoft sector, alongside the classic game variants, there are also military simulations that reenact armed confrontation scenarios - although somewhat more serious, they are still for entertainment purposes. MilSim is the abbreviation for "Military Simulation." Of course, airsoft weapons are used for this. In MilSim events, the players organize themselves like their military counterparts into companies and squads. Within these structures, players try to achieve the game objective. MilSim events are also called "OP," and at the largest events, hundreds of players can easily be involved. To organize these, there are clear command and order structures as well as task distributions. Military tactics are adapted for this style of play, and sometimes technology, such as modern high-performance radio equipment, is used. At "MilSim" events, players pay great attention to the authenticity of their equipment and the environment - everything is meant to mimic a realistic military impression. For the players, this means that for realism purposes, high-cap magazines are also avoided, and according to the real models, usually only magazines with a capacity of up to 30 rounds are used. Furthermore, there are also relatively "boring" tasks or roles, such as guarding a gate or the base. Therefore, MilSim events are mainly recommended for ambitious, experienced, and above all, disciplined players.
