Pioneering work by Aimpoint

The Swedish company Aimpoint, known for its pioneering work in the development of red dot sights, has launched the new Aimpoint Duty RDS, a special sight designed for both police service and civilian rifle shooters. With a variety of advanced features, intuitive controls, and an attractive price point, the Aimpoint Duty RDS positions itself as a state-of-the-art choice for professional and recreational shooters.

Compact design and easy mounting

The Aimpoint Duty RDS impresses with its compact dimensions of 80 mm x 38 mm x 67 mm (L/W/H) and a weight of only 161 grams, making it particularly handy and lightweight. A major advantage of this model is the easy mounting: the sight is ready to use right away, without the need for additional mounting equipment or tools. The 39 mm high mount is already firmly connected to the sight housing, and all necessary accessories such as battery and tools are included in the delivery. Even the folding protective covers are already pre-mounted on the ocular and objective.

Technical features and operation

The Aimpoint Duty RDS sets new standards in user-friendliness and technical equipment. Compared to other high-priced models like the Aimpoint Micro T-2, the Duty RDS offers a digital keypad on the left side of the housing. This can be easily operated even with gloves and allows for the adjustment of brightness levels as well as elevation and windage corrections. It offers a total of ten brightness levels, including four night vision compatible and six daylight settings. The clear and bright 2-MOA dot allows for precise aiming at various distances without excessive target coverage.

Robustness and reliability

The housing of the Aimpoint Duty RDS is made of pressure-forged aluminum (EN AW-6082), ensuring maximum strength and corrosion resistance. The sight is vibration and shock resistant and can be submerged up to 25 meters, supported by the Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology (ACET) for reduced power consumption and extended battery life. With daylight position 7 activated, the manufacturer promises over three years of continuous operation.

Price and value for money

With a price starting at 790 euros, the Aimpoint Duty RDS offers an attractive cost-benefit ratio, especially compared to other models like the Aimpoint Micro T-2. The Duty RDS combines quality, durability, and technical sophistication at a price that justifies the investment for demanding users.

In summary, the Aimpoint Duty RDS is an outstanding red dot sight specifically designed for demanding applications, but also represents an excellent choice for the civilian market. With its quick and easy mounting, intuitive operation, and high performance, it meets the needs of modern shooters in all areas.
