The new Sako 90
The production of the highly appreciated and widely used Sako 85 bolt action rifle was discontinued last year. Now the Finnish gun manufacturer presents its successor, the Sako 90.
The new Sako 90 hunting bolt action rifle combines traditional and innovative features. At its core, the Sako 90 is a bolt action rifle with a three-barrel bolt action, with five different system types available. This is to guarantee both weight optimization and an optimal repeating experience. Sako places particular emphasis on the smooth action mechanism. Therefore, manufacturing of the breech and system case were carefully monitored to ensure maximum smoothness. According to the manufacturer, the hunter can repetition the rifle while maintaining the target.
Other features of the new Sako 90:
The excellent bolt properties of the Sako 90 should be emphasized, and the adjustment screw for adjusting the trigger weight is clearly visible. A new feature of the Sako 90 is the distinction in the system: there is either a Picatinny rail or a traditional 17-millimeter prism rail.
In addition, all models have a cold-hammered barrel, and some of them even have a carbon jacket. The rifles have a lever safety that not only blocks the trigger, but also the firing pin at the same time, in addition to locking the chamber. For safe unloading, the Sako 90 has a button in front of the safety that can be used to unblock the chamber when it is locked. Without disassembly, the hunter can adjust the trigger of the new rifle: in front of the trigger there is a screw that allows the choice between five different trigger weights. The trigger blade can also be adjusted to ideally fit the shooter's trigger finger. Other features of the Sako 90 vary depending on the model:
