The firearms company founded in 1967 in Urbino, Italy, by two brothers is primarily known for its semi-automatic shotguns, which are used mainly in shooting sports but also in hunting. Furthermore, Benelli also produces semi-automatic sport pistols and offers a semi-automatic rifle with the "Argo E".
In 2015, the first over-and-under shotgun from Benelli, the 828U, was presented at the Shot Show and the IWA.
Since 2000, Benelli has been a subsidiary of the also Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta.
