Deadfall traps, or dead traps, are equipment or devices that serve the purpose of and are designed to kill wildlife. They must kill immediately when triggered to avoid tormenting the wild animal.

In Germany, impact traps may now only be triggered by pulling. Traps that trigger on foot are prohibited. Examples of deadfall traps are the Abzugeisen, the Schlagbaum and the so-called swan neck.

In addition to deadfall traps, so-called live traps are also used in trapping.
