Live traps are devices or mechanisms designed to prevent wild animals from moving. They must ensure that the wild animals remain unharmed to avoid pain. Examples include the box trap or the tilt board trap.
In addition to live traps, so-called kill traps are also used in trap hunting.
In trap hunting with live traps, the hunter usually also uses handguns, such as pistols or revolvers, to humanely dispatch the wild animals after they have been removed from the trap in a fair manner.
