The Blaser R8 Attaché:
Removable Magazine: The magazine and trigger group have been merged into a compact unit. The magazine release buttons are ideally positioned above the trigger guard for quick and intuitive handling. The magazine can be removed quickly and without looking. When removing the magazine with the integrated trigger group, the R8 relaxes automatically, and with the magazine removed, the cocking slide cannot engage. An important safety criterion also to protect against misuse by unauthorized persons. Modified bolt for even higher strength. The well-known Blaser radial locking bolt has been modified: a support sleeve now provides a form-fitting support for the expansion sleeve. The geometry of the expansion sleeve and corresponding ring groove has also been optimized. These measures lead to even higher safety and extreme reliability.
Precision Trigger: The R8 features the new Blaser precision trigger. With an extraordinarily crisp characteristic and extremely short release time. The shot is released at approximately 750g trigger weight without any delay.
Optimized Stock: The straight, parallel stock back directs the recoil forces horizontally onto the shoulder. This results in less muzzle jump and reduced recoil sensation. A steeper pistol grip angle, an optimized handball shape, and a noticeable cast lead to a relaxed wrist, better trigger control, and thus better hit results.
The straight-pull repeating system allows for lightning-fast reloading and quick shot delivery while maintaining a relaxed body position. Eyes and weapon remain aimed at the target, resulting in a significant time gain when reacquiring the target. With the hand tension, the firing pin spring is consciously tensioned only shortly before the shot is fired. No mechanical system can offer the safety of a relaxed firing pin spring. If no shot is fired, a light pressure on the cocking slide is sufficient to relax the firing pin spring. Unintentional opening is excluded with a relaxed firing pin spring; a light tap on the cocking slide is sufficient to unlock the bolt. If the magazine along with the trigger unit is not in the weapon, the firing pin spring cannot be tensioned. This provides additional safety against unauthorized access.
The dry-standing direct trigger of the R8 offers the perfect basis for a precise shot without unnecessary time delay. The radial locking bolt of the R8 locks directly in the barrel, thus ensuring stability and reliable shot performance. The barrels and chambers are cold-hammered in most calibers, ensuring that the barrel and chamber are always in perfect concentric alignment. The weapon can be disassembled in seconds, even under adverse conditions, allowing for quick and thorough cleaning. The simple disassembly is beneficial during extensive stalking. Weapon disassembled, stored in the backpack, and reassembled without changing the point of impact. The magazine can be changed "blind" and is protected against loss by two magazine buttons that must be operated simultaneously. Additionally, these buttons can be locked with an internal slider.
The closed design of the R8 prevents foreign objects from entering from the outside. It goes without saying that all metals used are corrosion-resistant or protected from corrosion by appropriate surface finishing. The magazine is protected from dirt and foreign objects by a protective cover when it is outside the weapon. Worldwide, the familiar rifle can be carried. This is ensured by interchangeable barrels in various calibers. Stock dimensions, trigger, and handling remain the same, allowing hunting of all game species with the appropriate caliber on all continents. If necessary, the stock can be easily changed.
The system housing of the R8 is titanium-colored but can also be delivered in black as an option. The buttstock of the weapon is equipped with a Bavarian cheek piece and double fold. The fore-end has a black finish. The R8 can also be delivered with a left-handed stock and left-hand system.
