1. What is Gunfinder?

Gunfinder is the largest search engine for hunting-related products in Germany. We have made it our mission to make it as easy as possible for hunters and sport shooters to find suitable offers. To do this, we search online marketplaces, exchanges, and the shops of dealers. This way, you can compare offers and get an overview of who currently has your desired product in stock.

2. How do the filters work?

With the help of the filters, you can narrow down your search more precisely.

Please note: the filters “Caliber” and “Purchase eligibility” are still in beta mode, which means that there may occasionally be errors.

3. How can I sort my search results?

With the sorting option on the right above the search results, you can sort them by various criteria. Options include Relevance, Cheapest first, Most expensive first, and Newest first.

4. What is the advanced search?

If you want to define your search even more precisely, you can use the advanced search. Here you can search for specific phrases or exclude terms. If you want, you can also use these parameters directly in the search bar:

1) If you put terms in quotation marks (“ ”), only results will be displayed where the terms appear in that exact order, e.g. “Hornady 8x57” lead-free. In this case, “Hornady 8x57” must appear exactly in sequence in the offer, the term lead-free can appear independently in the offer.

2) With a hyphen (-) before a search term, you can exclude it, e.g. Sauer Artemis -shotgun. In this case, results for Sauer Artemis will be displayed where the word shotgun does not appear.

5. What is the watchlist?

If you discover an offer that particularly appeals to you, you have the option to save it. Simply click on the bookmark icon on the right under the offer. Later, you can access and manage your watchlist through “My Gunfinder” (directly under the search bar).

6. How do saved searches work?

If you want to be notified as soon as there are new results for a specific search, you can save it. After you have created the search with the corresponding term and suitable filters, click on “Save search” above the search results. Then, your email address will be requested, and we will send you a confirmation email in which you confirm by clicking the link that it is indeed your email address. After that, we will send you an update once a day as soon as there are new offers for your search. The new results will always be displayed first.

You can manage your saved searches at any time under “My Gunfinder,” but only in the browser in which they were created. If you can no longer use this browser, you also have the option to stop notifications in the update email.

7. Why are my watchlist and saved searches not displayed?

The functions of “My Gunfinder” are tied to your browser. This means that as soon as you use Gunfinder on another computer or with another browser, the results will no longer be displayed. The same happens if you clear the cache in your browser. As soon as you use the browser in which the watchlist was created again, it will be displayed again.
