In many types of weapons, primarily revolvers and pistols, there are rear sights and front sights. The rear sight is a U- or V-shaped construct located on the barrel of the weapon. Its counterpart is the front sight, which is located above the muzzle and is usually point-shaped or square. These two points are aligned to aim at the target, which lies in the extension of the line of sight from the rear and front sights. There are other variations of this sighting device, such as the ring front sight, which occurs in conjunction with a diopter. Rifles often also feature optical sights, such as telescopic sights, holographic sights, or reflex sights.
The question of price depends on the sight model. Particularly popular are the so-called red dot sights. These indicate the exact point of impact through a light beam. This makes red dot sights particularly precise. The price of a red dot sight in usable quality starts at around €150 for a relatively simple model. For a very high-quality device, the price range is between €300-600, if not even more.
